A short tutorial on adding publications to the website
Fri, 07/10/2009 - 16:16
This is a quick little tutorial to explain how to add publications to the site using the Biblio module. Please follow these steps to ensure consistent formating
- Using the title of the publication search ISI Web of Knowledge to find a reference to the publication.
- If you are able to find it, great! Export the citation and convert to BibTeX (there are lots of ways to do this).
- Go here to add the new publication.
- Click on the "Paste" menu and copy the BibTex code into the text field.
- Then click on "Populate using BibTeX." The text fields will get filled in automatically.
- If this is an article we are authors on, locate a pdf file for the article. Attach the pdf file by scrolling down to the "File Attachments" menu and clicking on it. Be sure to click upload after browsing for the file.
- Click "Save" to commit the changes.
Note that you might not be able to find a BibTeX file for the publication in which case you will need to enter the information manually. To do this, rather than clicking on "Paste" in step 4 above, select the article type from the drop-down menu which will bring up all of the text fields.
Please let me know if you have questions or comments. Thanks!
